PROJECT STEPS
- One of your duties as a customer relationship officer for Cronus Business Bank is to create issues of the quarterly newsletter, which is emailed to bank customers. You are updating the newsletter with a new nameplate and other graphical elements.
Convert the text “Cronus Bank Notes” at the top of the page to WordArt using the Fill: White; Outline: Tan, Accent color 5; Shadow option in the WordArt gallery. - Format the WordArt shape as follows so that it fills the space at the top of the newsletter:
- Change the text wrapping to Top and Bottom.
- Resize the WordArt to a height of 1″ and a width of 7″.
- Format the WordArt text as follows to draw attention to the nameplate:
- Change the font to Californian FB.
- Change the font size to 48 point.
- Change the text fill by applying the Medium Gradient – Accent 4 preset gradient fill color (4th column, 3rd row in the Preset gradients dropdown).
- Apply the Square text effect from the Warp section of the Transform gallery.
- Insert a Continuous section break at the beginning of the first body paragraph (“According to the annual…its creditworthiness.”) to prepare for setting the article text into columns.
- Apply a newsletter format to the article text as follows:
- Format the article text (beginning “According to the annual…” and ending “Require e-commerce customers to sign in.”) so that it is displayed in three columns.
- Change the column width to 2.2″.
- To include a professional typeface element, add a drop cap as follows:
- Format the first letter in the article text (the “A” in “According”) as a drop cap using the Dropped style.
- Change the font color of the drop cap to Tan, Accent 4, Darker 25%.
- Complete the SmartArt in column 2 by inserting the picture

in the picture placeholder for the “Character” shape. - Call attention to a key point using a text box as follows:
- In the green text box shape, insert text as an object from the file
Support_WD19_7a_Quote.docx
without copying and pasting the text. - Resize the text box to a height of 1″ and a width of 2.1″.
- Move the text box to an absolute horizontal position of 5″ to the right of the Margin and an absolute vertical position of 7″ below the Margin to balance the page.
- In the green text box shape, insert text as an object from the file
- Insert a Column break at the beginning of the “Protecting against Payment Fraud” heading paragraph to make sure the heading remains at the top of column 3.
- Format and reposition the bank’s logo at the end of the document as follows so that the entire newsletter content fits on one page:
- Crop the picture to remove the dark red rectangle.
- Rotate the picture so that the “C” is oriented correctly as text.
- Change the position of the picture to Bottom Center with Square Text Wrapping.
- Move the anchor of the picture to the beginning of the paragraph “Evaluate your business…assess your credit.”
- Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following pages.
