Breakdown of the Dartmouth Class of 2028 Early Decision Admits

Accepted Early Decision applicants to Dartmouth’s Class of 2028 come from 47 states in the United States, along with Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and 47 countries around the world. The count of countries represented by accepted students went up a bit from 44 last year, with 22% being the first in their family to go to college, which is a new high for the university.

Dartmouth usually accepts some early applicants who have family members who attended the school before, like parents or grandparents. However, this year, Dartmouth didn’t share how many of these applicants they accepted, probably because it seemed inappropriate after a recent decision about not considering a person’s race in admissions.

Among the students who got accepted and gave their class rank, 97% were in the top 10% of their high school class. 147 of them are currently ranked first or second in their class. Dartmouth lets students choose whether or not to submit SAT or ACT scores with their application, and 75% of accepted students did. The middle 50% of SAT scores submitted ranged from 1480 to 1560.
